Anyone else excited about the new “Eric Weinstein” podcast? He is so fed up with the pier review process and the stagnation of science. His podcast #2 describes their vision for the podcast and is only 30min long.

11:00 modern max (sun) + modern min (earthquakes)
Think of the earth/sun going through the same process as an egg getting hard boiled…
Adding heat(solor max/ entering the loacal dust cloud) has no effect on the crust/shell,yet throw the egg into ice water(solor min/ exidous from the cloud) and the shell fragments (earthquakes and massive increase of volcanic eruptions/micro nova) as the crust shrinks at a faster rate than the contents, causing internal pressure to rise. Increased cosmic rays reduce the viscosity of magma , combined with the increased pressure and cracking results in more explosive volcanoes VEI 8,9,10.
