The first 27 minutes was informative and entertaining, thank-you, Ben and crew. The rest of the podcast was in my opinion fear mongering, racist, ranting and frankly not helpful for anyone.
Nothing racist at all. Having a discussion about one’s opinions and preferences is just that. Let’s not conflate the two because of your delicate sensibilities.
While I have just started listening to today podcast, I am pretty sure you shouldn’t say something is “not helpful for anyone.”… leave it to your own scope.
It is as complex as we are…. we are acknowledging that the world is changing… energetically. So what is the “right way” ? is no longer a way . it is not working. Look at today and not yesterday… We incentivized people living.. not so bad. Don’t act like they are not fleeing some terror along the lines of Vietnam.

So you guys are supposed to be a citizen science group right? Why are you talking about politics? And why would you want to alienate half of your audience with your separatist views (let’s face it, you have clearly chosen a side). I remember when you guys were considering who to vote for, and you were like. “Both candidates suck” (Trevor was the only 1 with common sense, and Billy when he said maybe this will cause some kind of collapse). Why are you so far up Trumps ass now. Did I miss something?

OK, first of all. When you refer to “Socialism” please refer to the correct form of socialism being talked about here. The correct term you are looking for is “Democratic Socialism”. There are many different forms of socialism, and you seem to be portraying a more extreme version. In a nutshell all “Democratic Socialism” means is government funded education and healthcare. What’s wrong with that? This is hardly going to bankrupt the USA, you can put controls in place for such provisions, so you can’t just walk into the country and benefit for free. The simple fact is that “Democratic Socialism” is still capitalism!
How about the hubris of the USA believing that they can just do what they want?

Obviously, today, if you challenge someone’s deeply held religious dogmas (a set of unquestioned truth claims by which all other truth claims are judged), whether they be scientific, political, philosophical, theological or practical, you are in for a fight.

Also, I’d just like to add that it doesn’t matter who’s religion is right and who’s is wrong. The fact is, that religion is VERY real to the individual. For that person, it is their truth (right or wrong), and I think we need to respect that regardless of our own belief systems (remember the placebo effect?, does it really matter what placebo you take?)
Just got the opportunity to watch this episode. As always very informative. Especially liked hearing Ben’s and all the group’s views on politics/current events. Intelligent people concerned about the state of our country and world voicing their opinions. So nice to hear rrasonable talk rather than all the hysteria and spoon-fed hype spewing like what goes on in all different media outlets. Appreciate the insight.
