Maybe since you have had a conference in the Western half of the USA, could Virginia, DC or Maryland be a consideration? There is so much stuff space and weather related in these areas fairly adjacent to each other; NASA, NOAA, NCEP and NWS have large presence in Virginia, DC and Maryland; driven within a day of each other. The number of Universities and Military in the area is huge as well. VA, Maryland, DC and NC are among the areas with the highest published Atmospheric and Space Scientists employment, location, etc. for these types of occupations. It may expand your speaker pool. Geo logic goes on and on for this area of thought. Just thinking about concentration of related entities and you noted most attendees were from the Easterly side… but I am just thinking out loud as I am not in your shoes for P&E. Today in New Zealand watched repeatedly the adulation all over the news re the beautiful Aurora Australis in all her glory. The beautiful and glorious Goddess. Then belatedly tuned into FOTW and was taken back millennia to their horrifying depictions of the evil bad Goddess and of just what might be in store for us. Thanks for 2nd awakening. I was actually flying to OTF with united airlines and they tried to give my seat away. I told them what I am going there for and the lady said “make sure he is on this place before it leaves”
