Excellent work as usual! Your consistency of quality is really quite amazing.

I’ve been a subscriber for quite some time, but I can say when I discovered your work and site I was already firmly in the then fringe plasma universe camp.

There are so many facets to the ways in which social media and the internet in general are used to divide and confuse the public. Sticking to what you were covering here though, has anyone else who also subscribes to SuspectSky noticed that even as a subscriber new videos from Adrian usually don’t show up in your feed or recommended videos? It’s not just the other side you don’t see.

Not only are people algorithmicaly divided by inclination and subjected to an echo chamber of their own views, the information that actually matters is very easily hidden from all groups by the same means, without anyone none the wiser. When small groups do find useful information and ideas the whole system makes it quite easy to then isolate them into their own echo chamber. I’ve wondered myself how many subscribers or likes to channels I frequent (such as your own) are bots or back-end tomfoolery to give the appearance of reaching more people just to make us all feel like maybe we haven’t been isolated in an echo chamber.

    The Matrix had it right.
    Neo: What truth?
Morpheus: That you are a slave, Neo. Like everyone else you were born into bondage. Into a prison that you cannot taste or see or touch. A prison for your mind.”

Sounds like tribalism, today it is going to the extreme and that leads to bloodshed to which I sincerely hope not. It is not social thinking in the civilized sense, more towards uncivilized. It is a cycle as in all things.

Insightful correlation with tribalism, and broadens the spin of the idea that “ it takes a village” to nurture or create a family/culture; if regression is one’s chosen direction, narrowing the circles preserves insularity until…

Thanks! I’ve shared your morning video about this. People need to know this fact. I tried to read the article online but no luck. You have to be a subscriber. It’s too bad that you’d probably get in trouble if you were to scan the article, convert it to a PDF document and shared it. 😉

Every situation is different, in some cases the truth is not on the outer edge of ‘left’ or ‘right’, it is actually somewhere in between, but in many more cases the truth will lie farther away from the middle than ‘the other side’ will ever concede.

A Political example; there is vanishingly little about the socialist left that I will accept. Why? Because, the belief system of the leftists is based on power and control over countries, the political systems in those countries, and controlling individual’s freedom in those countries. Since that’s where the left comes from in forming their arguments, I absolutely reject it. I maintain that our constitutionally limited representative republic is superior to other systems and not willing to alter our constitution so that it is no longer based on the two main tenets of individual liberty and personal responsibility. This is abhorrent to the leftists, and I will NOT meet in the middle on this.

That example can be extended beyond politics, from ‘climate change’ on through astrophysics. When you lie to support an agenda that has more to do with seeking power than seeking the truth, you sacrifice the middle ground and demand strict consensus with your beliefs. When you seek “to have a consensus by meeting in the middle”, you throw away seeking the truth just to have your consensus.

In theory you can meet in the middle on all issues, happily skipping down the road…until the opposing side challenges you to once again meet them in the middle. Do this enough times and you have sacrificed everything in order to placate your opposition temporarily and have a moments peace.

Never be afraid to fight for what you believe is right/correct but always keep your mind open to new information. When you are proven wrong, accept it and adjust accordingly, don’t demand to be met ‘in the middle’.

I am very sad to say that this is just not a surprise to me at all.
So-called “Social Media” will, in hindsight, be proved to have been one of the worst things ever developed.
This is why I do not use Twitter, FaceBook, Instagram or any of the similar sites.
