Update: 4:16pm Eastern Time – Spaceweather Update
I REEAAALLLY think the first shock will hit earlier than this – Maybe before tomorrow’s news.
Just look at the RSOE EDIS Alert-map for the eastern USA. Snow Ice Snow Sleet Cold Ice Snow Cold Sleet Snow Ice Frog Snow Ice Sleet Snow
Luckily it was been nice to the mid-west this round. Snow is melting here in Ohio, but slowly. Temperature in the sun is very nice actually, but you notice the temperature drop in the shade.
Earthquake Condition Index B+ to A-. Mercury conjoins the sun in less than 3 days. The coronal hole faces earth tonight through Saturday, and we have incoming spacewather.
Solar Notes: Sunspots groups going quiet. We should continue to monitor the magnetic mixing on the incoming group but the big dog who has made this week an M fest is heading for the limb – the eruptions will be less geoeffective in terms of CMEs but more likely to create polar radiation storms.
