Update: 5:40pm Eastern Time – The quake quiet since this mornings southern rumble matches a closing of the coronal fields and continued low magnetic power.

Found myself re-reading the facts as I’m in the crosshairs- found this, highly recommended.

Update: 5:15pm Eastern Time

Earthquake Watch Score: 7. Last night I suggested that magnetic force returning could ramp the watch to 7, but I did not mention an opening of the fields. Didn’t see that coming. Nothing major since then but we’re likely to see something else before the next lull. I’m reminded of the global tectonic destabilization discussed numerous times at the end of last year. Perhaps another update on that is due!

Solar Notes: Solar snooze. I’m fascinated by that sunspot though… could you notice?
